Kayak rental
You can rent kayaks from us that are suitable for beginners as well as for experienced paddlers.
Are you looking for a sturdy kayak, or are you experienced paddler and prefer a slightly narrower and faster kayak? We also rent out tandem kayaks. You can rent for day excursion or for multiple days. Details about the kayaks are at the bottom of the page.
For day excursions there are several excellent options right from the campsite. Some excursions require transfers to or from the site, if you would like us to arrange this it must be booked in advance.

Safety information
Paddling is not completely without danger. Please refer to our safety page with advice for a safe excursion on the canal and the large inland lakes.
Read information and know the basics for the group as a whole to discover the joy of paddling within a safe framework.
Canal boat and paddle boarding
Canal boats can take canoes or kayaks to and from all the regular stop-off points along the canal.
You don’t have to join in, but grab the opportunity if you get a chance. Tickets for you and the canoe/kayak on a canal boat must be booked directly with the Telemark Canal.
Transport
If you rent equipment from us, we offer delivery/pickup for an additional fee.
It’s entirely up to you where you wish to be dropped of or picked up from. We can accommodate 4-6 people and have canoe trailers, if the group is larger we book a minibus. Price based on driving distance. Transfers must be booked in advance.

Terms and conditions
- The kayak must be washed prior to being returned
- Must have read our safety information (wet card is not required unless you are paddling out to sea)
- There is no refund for returning equipment a day(s) earlier than planned
Additional opitons
- Final cleaning of kayak – NOK 100,-
- Delivery/pick-up of kayaks on the canal boat at Lunde lock. NOK 50,- per unit

Our rental kayaks
Singel kayaks
Perception Carolina 14
Available both with and without rudder.
Tough and stable kayak suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers.
Spacious cockpit that makes getting in and out easier. The high backrest provides increased comfort, something not found on many other kayaks of this type.
Large, narrow hatches provide good luggage space for longer excursions. There’s also plenty of room for a waterproof gear bag behind the seat.
Premium kajakk
Perception Essence
Sea kayak with rudder and skeg combining speed and manoeuvrability.
Perception Essence comes with both rudder and skeg (lowering keel). The combination ensures good directional stability and more control of the kayak, with the trunk as well as the legs. The hull is narrower/longer and considerably more V shaped than e.g. the Carolina 14 model, resulting in more speed and greater control.
Two large compartments and a day hatch right behind the cockpit provide ample space for gear.
When you rent one of our Premium kayaks we include a premium light touring oar (fiberglass and carbon blend) from Adventure Technologies, splash cover and an oar cord.
Tandem kayak
Perception Horizon
Stable tandem kayak with rudder. Suitable for beginners as well as advanced paddlers who want to paddle together. For overnight trips, be aware that there is not double luggage space in the waterproof hatches.
Perception Vista
Open tandem kayak with a very stable design. Well suited for beginners who want to paddle two together. The open design makes it functional with easy access to equipment like a canoe, while paddling like a kayak.
